Description
The range Malossi for Vespa, it offers extremely high-tech products capable of developing such exceptional performance increases compared to the standard, that it also requires the adaptation of the other fundamental components of the vehicle.It is sufficient to compare a Vespa PX 200 E produced in 1978, which as standard develops a power of 12.35 HP at 5700 RPM, with a "tuned" Vespa with kits Malossi, which can develop 27.5 HP at 8000 RPM, or more than double the HP at an extremely higher rpm, to understand that it was absolutely essential to design a clutch unit capable of withstanding the stresses due to a performance increase of such proportions!
The POWER UP CLUTCH SYSTEM clutch units Malossi they are born to give an answer and overcome all the problems that inevitably arise when the technology of the clutch unit is not adequate for the other engine components. A traditional clutch, having to transmit more than doubled power to the gears, having to rotate much faster at the same time, can lead to the bell yielding under the effect of centrifugal force, to sliding and deformations that result in annoying and little reassuring metallic noises, up to the classic slippage of the clutch caused by the insufficient friction developed by the original discs, which prevents, among other things, the transmission of the entire power released by the thermal unit, partially nullifying its potential.
The two versions of the POWER UP CLUTCH SYSTEM Malossi they have common characteristics:
POWER UP CLUTCH BASKET clutch bell in high strength steel with surface hardening treatment to increase wear resistance and, consequently, durability.
Reinforcement ring welded with TIG technique on the external diameter of the bell to effectively counteract the centrifugal force developed by the higher rotation speed.
4 friction plates with high performance friction material.
Recalculated and restricted coupling tolerances, especially in the connection between the spring pusher disc and the bell, to eliminate the annoying metallic rattle and help increase the life of the component.
The two clutches are operated by a series of main springs with a high coefficient of elasticity, 6 in the housing for the PX 125 and 7 in the housing for the PX 200 E, and are equipped with a set of auxiliary springs, again 6 for the PX 125 and 7 for the PX 200 E, to be used in higher power configurations. This adjustment allows the user to adapt the clutch to the engine configuration, taking advantage of it at all levels of processing and in all possible set-ups.
