Description
The new reinforced wheel axle for smallframe vespa engines is made of very high-strength steel and relative vacuum carburizing treatment. The material used and the new sizing make the shaft particularly suitable for engines prepared or with displacements higher than the norm (even up to 250 ccm)
Today, thanks to the recent investments of some manufacturers, it is possible to find on the market a wide choice of very powerful thermal units that even exceed 40 horsepower.
I remind you that the Vespa smallframe engine was born to last over time and that its power hardly exceeded 10 horsepower.
With these increases in power, it is essential to adapt all the kinematics in order to avoid breakage and premature wear.
Fatigue failure example: Small axis 8
Example of the new dimensioning. The thread has also been increased to M16x1.25 Asse small 6
We recommend using UNI 7435 tree rings (seeger section 1.75)
Small axis 2 Small axis 3 Small axis 4 Small axis 5
From the miniatures it is possible to notice n. 2 through holes for inserting the return balls. Pos. 0 (original) Pos. 0.5 (shifted by 0.50 mm towards fourth gear)
This foresight allows us to align the selector / gears (even with spare parts subject to coarse machining tolerances) avoiding the need to couple more calibrated shims to reach the precise position.
For a correct operation of your gearbox, it is advisable to combine this axle with the Crimaz 4 speed racing cruiser
