Description

intake manifold Malossi 28 / 30mm for Vespa PX T5. INTAKE MANIFOLD The intake manifold turns out to be the access corridor of the air-fuel mixture in the engine through the door formed by the reed valve. The total efficiency of an engine is calculated as a product of various partial efficiencies which are: - volumetric efficiency - thermodynamic efficiency - mechanical efficiency The volumetric efficiency is the ratio between the quantity of fuel that is unable to enter into the combustion chamber and the displacement of the engine. One of the main factors that affect the volumetric efficiency is loss due to friction which meets the inlet fluid (air-fuel mixture) from the air filter up to the combustion chamber, Therefore, one of the components that greatly influences this loss is the intake manifold, as all the input mixture has to pass through it with the minimum possible loss, for this it is absolutely necessary to avoid sudden increases in section and corners along the mix path. Another function of the intake manifold is to act as an accumulation tank for the fresh charge, as the mixture traveling at a certain speed column takes a certain time to stop when the reed valve closes, and then comes to clump mixture in the manifold, exerts pressure against the lamellae. For this reason, each manifold has a well-defined range of number of revolutions within which expresses the maximum efficiency (tuned manifold). In addition, the manifold performs the task of supporting the carburettor by connecting to the crankcase or to the cylinder, therefore, it has also, where required, the task of damping the vibrations that are transmitted from the crankcase to the carburettor and preventing emulsion of gas and air in the float chamber. This apparently simple component therefore requires considerable study, so you can enjoy all of its qualities that Malossi engineers have perfectly centered. the Malossi with decades of experience in fuel systems for engines, has created a new line of manifolds in rubber and aluminum alloy for the new generation scooter, tested and developed by Malossi experiences department, both on the road, on both race circuits. In particular, in Malossi rubber manifolds have a composite structure in that they are built from an aluminum insert that is embedded in a special plastic material resistant to oils and from gasoline, ensuring in this way a considerable rigidity of the fixing base to the crankcase and a good elasticity of the manifold body.
