Description

Delivered ready for installation, the BGM Superstrong clutch is ideal for bringing the power of even the most powerful engines to the road.
The concept lies in the claim to offer an extremely durable, high quality clutch at a fair price.
A big advantage is the use of serial components.
The type of pads is identical to that of the V50 / PK XL, the clutch springs come from the Cosa clutch. The pole wheel puller with 28x1mm of the Vespa electronic ignitions (for example PK and PX) is used as an extractor. In case of revision it is not necessary to resort to special parts.
The mounted springs are designed for a power range up to approx. 22PS / 20Nm. That way it's still very easy to use.
With optional harder springs the clutch is also suitable for much higher performance.
The BGM Superstrong has no keyway in the auxiliary shaft. This greatly increases the bearing surface on the cone if a corresponding auxiliary shaft is used. The crescent is not technically required, the full torque is transmitted through the frictional connection via the cone. As soon as this frictional connection is too small, the crescent would immediately detach, i.e. the crescent is not suitable for transmitting sufficient torque

Assembly aid
With our BGM Multitool BGM8819 the coupling can be pretensioned to facilitate assembly in the motor.
For PK XL1 and XL2 clutch cover
For an optimal balance between lever force and lever travel, we recommend using a PK XL or PK XL2 clutch cover. These have a longer release lever and are therefore much easier to use than the short lever V50 clutch covers.

Note: In some cases the existing tolerances of bearing seats, auxiliary shaft length, motor housing etc. add up, so the clutch cover must be covered with a 1mm spacer. Additionally, a second paper seal is required for the spacer (sealing spacer seal).
If the brake anchor plate pushes through the spacer towards the clutch cover, it can also be under framed. For this we offer our complete kit of 1 mm spacers (see accessories).

As a lubricant we recommend BGM Pro Street gear oil (BGM2025, compliant with API specification GL-3).
