Description
Motor shaft Malossi pin 16, connecting rod 110, stroke 57 mm for Vespa 200 Rally VSE1T 33997 -> / P200E / PX200 E / Lusso / MY / Cosa full shoulders, round flywheels for reed valveThe Vespa crankshaft is one of the most delicate and important components of this type of engine, having to both manage the movements of the connecting rod and piston, and regulate admission through the timing of the half-shoulder.
The technical office Malossi has focused its attention precisely on these two aspects, creating two versions of the crankshaft and developing new solutions of great technical value, starting with the choice of materials, as always of the highest quality.
All motor shafts Malossi for Vespa they are made of aeronautical quality cemented steel and remelted under vacuum, a material highly resistant to scratches, guaranteed by the certifications required by the very strict specifications Malossi. The "viper head" connecting rod has a conformation designed to minimize weight and guarantee all the necessary rigidity.
Not even the smallest detail has been overlooked. The technicians Malossiin fact, by intervening even on the threading of the transmission-side axle of the drive shafts, they have managed to significantly increase the resistance by using a finer pitch. The position of the key has also been revised both in size and shape, so as to no longer affect the thread and contribute to the resistance in a solution that is finally at the forefront. The crankshafts are supplied with special nuts, much more resistant, to take advantage of the greater resistance offered by the tighter thread.
DIFFERENT VERSIONS
Crankshafts with different connecting rod lengths are available for the "small frame" Vespas on which the shaft with full shoulders will be installed.
The shaft dedicated to engines with rotary valve admission has a standard stroke and connecting rod length.
ROTARY VALVE CRANKCASE SHAFT
In the version dedicated to rotary valve thrusters, the intake phase has been obtained inside the half-shoulder, in the structure with circular masses itself, which has produced a considerable slot facing inwards, while maintaining a regular external profile. This innovative choice has made it possible to obtain a unique shape capable of guaranteeing extremely effective fluid dynamics.
Such conspicuous slots have always been one of the most delicate points of the Vespa crankshafts when looking for the correct balance. Malossi has solved this problem by including inserts made of wolfram in the crankshaft and used as counterweights to increase the stability of the shaft itself.
