BRAKESHOES PRORACE NEWFREN:

The new line of brake shoes called PRORACE has been designed to add performance and exclusivity to a more than tested product. The jaw cover is made of die-cast with a special aluminum alloy in compliance with the EN 1676: 2010 standards. The braking friction material instead has a new compound with exceptional characteristics, offers considerable advantages in terms of braking, improves safety in city traffic thanks to the properties of high resistance to fatigue and stress for continuous braking and restarting during the use. Particularly suitable for racing use in competitions with scooters, it reduces braking distances and withstands heavy stress even in conditions of repeated braking at high speed. This new compound allows to obtain 30% more friction coefficient and 25% less braking distance.

The jaws are made of metal elements in the shape of a crescent, on the surface of which there are the pads.
In the drum brake mechanism with two control cylinders, the useful action of the work is increased thanks to the rotation of the drum itself during the movement of the vehicle, which at the moment of braking tends to tighten itself more against it. As a result, the force required on the brake lever or pedal is reduced. Thus, for the rider of the motorcycle, a light pressure on the pedal or the brake lever is enough to make the shoes touch the drum, after which this effect begins to work as a sort of "amplifier".

Brake drums deteriorate very slowly and do not need frequent turning. But unfortunately the brake pads are not eternal spare parts because they are subject to wear. The complete inspection of the brake shoes should be performed at a technical service station every 10.000-15.000 km traveled.

Repair and replacement of brake shoes
The repair of the stumps is no longer considered in recent years.
The replacement of the jaws is a rather complicated and important process, which is why it is recommended to carry out the replacement with great care and attention.
