Here are 5 curiosities about the Vespa PX that you can't miss. Everyone knows that this Vespa, produced by Piaggio, was presented on October 19, 1977 at the Milan Motor Show. Few, perhaps, remember that the giant model was also exhibited for the occasion from over four meters high. At the time there was talk of the "New line" of the Vespa and the PX was shown in all its glory in three versions. Which?
  • P125X
  • P150X
  • P200E What made the difference was the type of equipment as the former had a 7 HP engine, the 150 had 9 HP and the 200 had 12 HP. All three had a four-speed manual gearbox. So far there are no big news. Vespa enthusiasts will say that "we have discovered hot water" and there is no interesting curiosity. Yet there is some news that probably few know. First it is good to underline the fact that the PX was presented at the Milan Motor Show and from there its path began, studded with great successes. Indeed, the Milan Motor Show recurs frequently in the history of the PX, providing the backdrop for beautiful moments and other less beautiful ones, but which, despite everything, have contributed to creating the story of a real myth of two wheels.
  • The 5 curiosities about the Vespa PX: here's something that few people know What are the 5 curiosities about the Vespa PX? Here are some indiscretions that perhaps not everyone knows.

1.In 1978 the Vespa PX was officially launched on the market. The spot soon became iconic thanks to the slogan "New Line". There was talk of a new line and at the same time a trend was created capable of reaping great successes and captivating the general public 2. The initial cost of the Vespa PX was 675.000 lire
    3. Initially the options included: direction indicators and electronic ignition. In 1982, however, they all became standard
4.The P80X and P100X were destined for the foreign market. However, in 1981 the Vespa PX left the American market due to the incompatibility of anti-pollution regulations.
The Vespa PX has left the scene in Italy, on the other hand, twice, but has always returned stronger than before and with important innovations capable of rekindling the passion of its numerous fans
Vespa PX: the story of a myth From 1977 onwards the Vespa PX has become a real legend. There is not only the 50 Special. We often talk about her and do not pay due homage to the PX, but here we only want to retrace the history of another Piaggio model capable of reaping great successes and entering the hearts of all two-wheel enthusiasts.

As we have pointed out, the PX had a setback in the United States in 1982 due to the new emissions regulations, but this is a small flaw, within a glorious history. In 1984 the first restyling created the Arcobaleno model which was a huge success and which made us forget the bad news coming from the United States. This particular Vespa was full of very interesting innovations from an aesthetic point of view. An example? First of all the saddle which appeared to be more padded. The central platform was wider while the instrumentation more complete thanks finally to the presence of an important fuel level indicator. In addition to this, the fender had been completely redesigned. The rear light and the horn cover grille are also new.

In 1985 the T5 Pole Position was created, i.e. the sports version of the Vespa PX, while two years later the Vespa PX range was renewed again with the 125 HP PX 8, 150 HP PX 9 and 200 HP PX 12 versions.
In 1990 came the first exit from the scene. The PX had been so successful that the models that came after could not make it forget. What happened? Given the flops in 1993, the PX returned to appear with three versions, namely: 125 with 9 HP, 150 with 10 HP and 200 with 11 HP. Three years later, however, for the 97th birthday of the Vespa, the special Classic version made its debut. This wasp was characterized by black finishes in combination with the yellow color of the bodywork and the brown saddle. In XNUMX, on the other hand, the Disco version of the PX was launched, that is a two-wheeler equipped with a front disc brake.
The special version P2007X 125 Years Ultima Series was presented at the Milan Motor Show in 30, celebrating both the thirtieth anniversary of the Vespa PX and the production exit of the relative model. How long did the second exit last? Little, very little indeed. In 2011, in fact, the PX returned again with the 125 8 HP and 150 9 HP versions, all three approved to the Euro 3 standard thanks to the CDI electronic ignition and the new catalytic converter.
Seven years after the previous one, at the 2014 Milan Motor Show, the special Touring version of the Vespa PX was presented, while the special Settantesimo version was presented at the 2015 Motor Show, recognizable mainly by the specific Azzurro 70 and Grigio 70 colors.
In 2017, due to the mismatch with the Euro 4 regulations, the PX left the scene again. Will he come back? The PX made us understand that anything can happen and that every time you fall you can get up and come back stronger than before.
